When we do our research, we don’t just want to look at what your competitors are doing (what if they’re all doing it wrong?). We look at what innovators are doing. What your analytics tell us about your visitors, conversions and site performance. What your server logs tell us about critical errors. What your business processes tell us about ways our designs need to support or enhance your processes. What your user surveys tell us about user needs. What your call center support calls tell us about your call volume and most frequent call topics. We want to know it all.
Once we know what we didn’t know, we can use that knowledge as inputs into creating smarter, data-driven design decisions.
When you have real data to support your design decisions, it not only makes your decisions easier but it also lets everyone on the team know that they’d better do their homework before they suggest something without any supporting evidence.
