By prioritizing field technician needs we provided an accessible, intuitive hardware interface for experienced and first-time users.
Through user interviews conducted for a power conversion company, we discovered that the primary users are men aged 50 and older, who typically have larger hands and specific visual accessibility needs. It’s essential for critical information, such as alarms and equipment readings, to be readable from a distance. To address these requirements, we increased the size of touch targets, enlarged the font size, and enhanced the color contrast to comply with WCAG AAA standards.
